Guide - Choosing the right fittings
How do I choose the right fittings?
There is really no right or wrong, but the most important thing is that the fitting fulfills its function where it is to be mounted. For fronts that are heavier, for example dishwashers and fridges/freezers, it is good to choose a sturdy handle that is easy to pull. Otherwise, the risk is that the handle will break or that it is difficult to get hold of and pull properly if you hands are a little wet. Fittings with leather details have a risk of discolouration if they sit in kitchens and bathrooms where hands are often damp.
In most of our series, there are handles and knobs in various designs that are very nice to mix and combine with each other.
Size and CC measurements?
All handles have a CC measurement. It means Center-to-Center and shows the measurements between the centers of the two screw holes. The handle itself can be longer than the CC measurement, which you see in the example image below. If you have previously bought a fitting with a certain CC measurement, it is easy to refresh your home with new fittings, but then make sure to choose the same CC measurement for a smooth change. Most of our fittings are available in several different CC sizes. The easiest way to measure CC dimensions if you already have a fitting in place is to open the cabinet or door and measure the distance between the screw heads.
